When more than five people head to the coast, the question is always the same: two cars or one van? After years of experience with families holidaying in Dalmatia, the answer is usually the van.

Why a van

  • Everyone travels together, the kids are in one place and there is only one driver.
  • One toll, one parking space and one tank of fuel instead of two.
  • The boot takes luggage for eight people with room left for a pushchair.
  • It can be driven on a regular category B licence.

How a van drives

Modern passenger vans such as the Opel Vivaro, Renault Trafic or Mercedes V-Class drive like a larger car. They have air conditioning, cruise control, parking sensors and a camera, and an automatic gearbox removes the last worry. The only things to watch are height limits in garages and the narrow streets of old towns.

Practical tips

  • Book child seats with the vehicle, just mention it in the inquiry.
  • Check that your apartment has a parking space for a larger vehicle.
  • Ferries charge vans by length, so check the category when booking.

Pick-up

Vans are available in Zagreb, in the city centre or at the airport, and at Split Airport. Send an inquiry with dates and the number of passengers and we will confirm availability and price the same day.
